1. EVACUATION DEVICES
Aportable megaphone,flashlights, crash axe andescape ropes are providedto assistin emergency escapeandaidin rescue operations. The megaphoneis locatedin the rightaft overheadbin. Aflashlightis locatedbehind eachpilot seat, onein thewardrobe, onenext totheflightattendantand onein therightaft overheadbin. The crash axe is locatedbehind the copilot’s seat. Aflight compartment escape rope islocatedin the ceilingabove the copilot. Cabin escape ropes are locatedjustaft of each overwing emergency exit. An area onthetopofthefuselageatthe wing rootis clearly marked asabreak-in area for rescue crew emergency access tothe cabin.
A. Emergency Locator Transmitter
The emergencylocatortransmitter(ELT)is located in theaftequipment compartment andis automatically activatedduring an aircraft crash. TheELTtransmits astandard swepttone on121.5,and243.0MHz. Thetwo position ELT switchis locatedin the flight compartment ontheoverheadpanelandis labeledARM/RESETandON. The switchis usedtotest, armandresettheunit. During normalflightoperations, theELT switchis in theARM/RESETposition. The ELT can be manually activatedby selecting theELT switchtoON. To resettheunit afterithasbeen activatedautomatically, the switchis selectedtotheONposition,thenbackto theARM/RESETposition.
