W  Whenthe airplane is -
200feetbelow selectedaltitudetheflashing magentabugs andreadoutwill cancel.
W  Ifthe airplane subsequently continues todeviate (±1000feet)fromthe selected altitude, aonesecondtonewillbe heard.
W  Whenthe airplane is again within 200feetofthe selected altitude,the readoutand bugswillturn magentaand stopflashing.
Altitudealerts can be cancelledbypushingtheALT switch orselecting adifferent altitude. Altitudealerts are inhibitediftheglideslopeis captured.

1. AUTOPILOT
The automaticflight controlsystem(AFCS)provides atwo axes, digital, fail-passive autopilot (AP). The APsystemautomatically controlsthe aircraftin the pitch, roll andyaw axis,in response to flightdirector commands, by actuatingtheappropriate control surfaces. The fail-passive APsystemis protectedagainstinternalsingle hardware faultsandlimits any malfunctioning commandsto aresponse thatis easily controlledbythepilot. Command inputsto theailerons andelevators are providedby servos controlledbytheflight control computers (FCC’s). TheFCC’s inputthe yaw dampersystemtocontrolthe rudder
