1. FLIGHT CONTROL AND GUIDANCE
Integration amongthe various avionics systems is providedbythe integrated avionics processingsystem (IAPS)whichis acomputercard cage locatedin the avionics compartment. Two flight control computers (FCC’s), mountedinsidetheIAPS, are the main computers fortheautomatic flightcontrolsystem(AFCS). Controllogic for thedualflight directors, thetwo axes autopilot withautomatic pitchtrim andthedualyawdampers is contained within thetwo FCCs.
The FCC’s use altitudeandheading reference system(AHRS)andair datacomputer(ADC) system information tocalculate flightpath and controlparameters forthe AFCS. Other inputsto theflight controlcomputers include selections made ontheflight controlpanel, flight management computeroutputsand radio systemoutputs.
