1. CONTROL
The APUelectronic controlunit(ECU)providesfullautomatic control ofAPU starting, stopping,andprotectstheAPUduring all modesofoperation. The controlsystem ensures thatpriorityis given to electricalloadsby reducingbleedairflow.
A. Starting
WhenthePWRFUEL switchlight, on theAPUpanel, is selected: W The ECUis powered W The air inletdooropens(position is displayed ontheEICAS statuspage) W The APURPMandEGTgauges are displayed ontheEICAS statuspage W The fuelpump comes on.
WhentheSTART/STOP switchlight, on theAPU controlpanel, is selected: W The ignition is activated W The startermotoris energized W The fuel shutoff valve opens W The STARTlegend ontheAPUpanel comes on W The APUSTART status messageis displayed.
