1. INTRODUCTION
The aircraft uses both115Volts ACand28 volts DCpower. AC electricalpower is provided bytwo engine-driven generation systems. Eachsystemincludes anintegrateddrive generator(IDG)and agenerator controlunit(GCU). An auxiliarypower unit(APU) generatoris also available as abackACpowersource toreplace eitherorbothIDGs.
Inthe eventoftotalACpower loss, emergencyACpoweris available from an in-flight air-driven generator(ADG). The ADG assemblyis stowedin acompartment ontheright sideofthe nose section.
DCpower is suppliedbyfive transformerrectifierunits(TRU) which rectifies ACinputpower intoDCoutputpower. Another source ofDCpower is from amain batteryandAPUbattery. The main and APUbatteries are connectedintotheaircraftDCelectricalpowersystem and are chargedbytheir respective battery chargers. Power for startingtheAPUis providedby theAPUbattery.
Electrical contactors, switchesand relays locatedthroughout13junction boxes in the aircraft, are usedforconnectingACandDCpower totheappropriatebuses and components. Powerconnection is dependentonsystemconfiguration andhealth. The followingis alistof allthe aircraft electricalsystem buses:

Onthe ground,the aircraft can receive externalACpower through areceptacle located on theforward right sideofthefuselage. The aircraft can also receive externalDCthrough a receptacle located on theaft right sideofthefuselage.
The electricalpower services panel(EPSP)in theflight compartment,andthe external service panelontherightforwardfuselage, contain theACandDCsystemcontrolswitches. The switches are usedfor manualandautomatic control oftheelectricalpower generating systemandexternalpoweroperation.
