1. FUEL DISTRIBUTION
Fuelis distributedto eachengine from arespective side collector tankwhichis an integral part ofthe centerwingtank. Two scavengeejectors, locatedatthelowestpart of each wing tank, supplies fuelto each collector tanktokeepitin afull condition. The collectortankis designedto maintain engine fuelfeedunderall normalandtransientflight maneuvering. A main ejector, within each collector tank, supplies fueltothe respective sideengine. The main andscavengeejectors are poweredbypressurizedfueltappedfromthemotive flow line ofthe respective engine fuelpump.
For engine start, aboostpump connectedto each collectortank, is selectedONfromthe fuelcontrolpanel. Theboostpumps supplyfueltotheir respective engines. The control panelis used to controland monitorboostpumpoperation.
The fueloutputpressure fromthemain ejectoris monitoredby apressure switchand when theoutputpressure is sufficientto supplytheengines, theboostpumps are automatically turnedoff. The boostpumpswill remaininstandby mode withtheengines running, asa back upto the main ejectors in theeventof afailure. Eachboostpumpis capable of feedingbothengines.
