At NBAA2009, new education sessions for entrepreneurs who rely on light business airplanes gained wide accep-tance and enjoyed overflow attendance.

Total attendance at NBAA2009 reached 75 percent of the total for NBAA2008, with 22,920 participants registered by the show’s third and final day.
In spite of the formidable challenges that business aviation encountered during 2009, NBAA’s Convention proved again that it is an essential venue for the buyers and sellers in the industry to connect because the event is one of the most efficient ways for companies to make the most of their mar-keting and travel dollars in a challenging economic climate.
Equally important, NBAA2009 was an opportunity for the industry to come together, all in one place, and underscore the importance of business aviation to citizens, companies and communities across the country and articulate a vision for the future.
In 2009, a series of NBAA Business Aviation Regional Forums held in St. Paul, MN; Dallas, TX; and Bedford, MA, provided local venues for Members to interact with their peers. These day-long learning and networking events were designed to meet the needs of regional business aviation communities. At these sessions, FAA officials explained regional operating procedures and policies, and NBAA’s staff answered questions about business aircraft ownership and management, and about NBAA benefits. At each Regional Forum, hundreds of Attendees viewed about 60 indoor exhibits and approximately 30 static aircraft. The events also provided an introduction to local government and civic lead-ers interested in learning more about business aviation.

Because business aviation is global in nature, NBAA con-tinued its work to provide industry-leading international events. The 9th Annual European Business Aviation Con-vention & Exhibition (EBACE2009) proved to be a valuable event for Members in 2009. Despite the economic climate, EBACE2009 was the third-largest meeting in the event’s his-tory, drawing nearly 11,000 registered Attendees.
