In 2009, NBAA continued its commitment to moderniza-tion through its long-standing support for building upon the efficient, effective, stable and reliable fuel tax for general aviation to help fund investments in system transformation.
Whether confronting these challenges, addressing the criti-cal issues of climate change or securing regional victories for the industry like defeating a ban on night operations in Burbank, CA, NBAA will continue to work with government officials at all levels to help them understand the impacts of their proposals on the success of tens of thousands of com-panies and communities, and on the jobs of more than one million Americans who work in business aviation.

The continued popularity of NBAA’s Air Mail e-mail discus-sion lists, plus exciting new social networking options, in-cluding Facebook and Twitter, are enabling NBAA Members to connect online with the Association and other members of the business aviation community in more ways than ever.

A key tenet of business aviation is that the strongest relationships are made face-to-face, and data from NBAA’s 62nd Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2009) indicate that the Convention remains the industry’s most-valued event for in-person networking. Compared to the history-making numbers for the 2008 show:
.
Ninety-one percent of the Exhibitors returned for NBAA2009 and occupied 84 percent of the floor space needed for NBAA2008.

.
Representatives from 86 countries attended NBAA2009, an increase from the 82 nations represented in 2008.

.
Attendees at NBAA2009 came from all 50 U.S. states, compared to the 49 states represented at NBAA2008.
