When thepilot’s audio controlpanelEMER/NORM switchis setto EMER, thepilot’s headsetis connecteddirectlyto NAV1 navigation radio andVHF1 communication radio. Mostofthesystemis bypassed making mostaudio controlpanelfunctions inoperative. Cockpit speakers are disabledandall warningsandtones are heard throughtheheadsets. The observers station,passengeraddress andinterphones are disabledin emergency mode.
