E. Intercom Control Panel
The intercomcontrolpanelis located on the centre pedestalandis usedto select one offour communication modes. When abuttonis pressedthelabeled modeis activated andanyprevious modeis deactivated.
To make anannouncementfromtheflight compartment:
W Settheaudio controlpanelrotarytransmit selectorto PA
W Press thePApushbutton on theintercomcontrolpanel
W Use anypress to talk switchto transmit.
The PAindicatorlight onbothflightattendanthandset cradles willilluminate (green) andthePApushbutton on theintercomcontrolpanelwillilluminate (green).
PressingtheCHIMEpushbutton,only sounds ahigh-low chime in thepassenger compartment(there are noindicatorlightsfor this action).
When the CALLis pressed, itilluminates green and sounds ahigh-low chime in the passenger compartment. Thegreen FLTindicatorlight onbothflightattendant’s handset cradles illuminate and aredlight comes on in the mid-cabin overhead exit sign.
The EMERbuttonis usedto notifytheflightattendants of an in-
flight emergency. When activated,theEMERindicatorlight ontheintercom panel, flashes(amber)and a high-low chime sounds. In thepassengercompartment,the amberEMGlight onboth flightattendant stations, flashes onthehandset cradles andaredlightflashes onthe mid-cabin overhead exit sign.
