2. OUTFLOW VALVES
The dual, redundant, electro-
pneumatic outflow valves are installed on the rear pressure bulkhead,belowfloor level, andare designated astheprimaryand secondary valves. Both valves are slavedtogetherthrough apneumatic line andare electrically controlled. The valves willrespondtoeitherelectrical signals in automatic mode, ortopneumatic input signals from the manualregulators on theCABINPRESS controlpanel.
3. CABIN PRESSURE CONTROLLERS
The aircraftis equipped withdual, redundantpressure controllers, whichoperateonlyin automatic mode. All controller outputsare senttotheoutflowvalves. While onecontroller is in use,the otherupdatesautomatically. The active cabin pressure controller commandsthe outflowvalve to anominaldifferentialpressure of8.33psid. Inputsto thepressure controllers are receivedfrom air datacomputer(ADC1)normally. ADC2is thebackupto ADC1. If acontroller fails,the system willautomaticallyswitch over to the other controller. If automaticswitch-
over fails, selectthe PRESSCONTROL switchtwice. Thiswillenable theredundant controller. Ifbothpressure controllers fail, bothoutflow valves willgo to an isobaric hold mode.When the airplane is onthegroundfor3 minutes, automatic pressure controllerswitch-
over willoccur.
The pressurization system automatically maintains cabin pressure throughallphasesof flight. Typicalvalues usedin thecabin/flightaltitude schedule during manual mode are as follows:
