Left and Right PACKSwitch/Lights
Usedto controloperation of air conditioning packs.
Whenpressedin, associatedpack pressure regulating/shut-
off valve opens, permittingairflowinto pack. OFF (white) light goes out.
Whenpressedout, associatedpack pressure regulating/shut-
off valve closes, shuttingdown airflow into pack. OFF (white) light comes on andEICAS displays L/R PACK OFF status message.
RAM AIR Ventilation Switch/Light (Guarded)
Usedwhenbothpacks fail. Provides ambient air to left conditionedair (cockpit) supply duct.
Whenpressedin, ram air vent valve opens and supplies air into cockpit supply duct. OPEN(white) light comes on. EICAS displays RAMAIROPEN status messageandECS pageindicates valve position.
Whenpressedout, ram air valve closes and OPENlight goes out. EICAS ECS pageindicates valve at closedposition.
Manual Mode -
Temperature Control Switch/Light
Used to select manual modetemperature control.
Whenpressedin, selects manual controlandlight comes on green and EICASindicates CKPT/ CABINTEMPMAN.
Whenpressedout, selects automatic controlandlight goes out.

B. Temperature Control
The flight compartmentandthepassenger compartmentshave identicalbut independently-operatedtemperature controlsystems. Eachcontrollersubsystemis dedicatedto an air-conditioningpack. Temperature control, in automatic mode,is providedbyCKPTandCABIN selectorknobs ontheair conditioningpanel. Controlin manual modeis providedbyleftand rightpackMANswitchlightsand HOT/COLD switches onthesame panel. Theindividualpacks can be manuallyturnedOFFby selectingthe respective Lor RPACK switchlight ontheair conditioningpanel.
