From a flagship Convention and European show to an outstanding seminar series, NBAA events in 2010 provided some of the best opportunities for individuals to learn and network, and for companies to build relationships and make the most of their marketing dollars. The Association also increased outreach on a local level through student-oriented initiatives and through its support of more than 50 regional business aviation associations based nationwide.

The success of NBAA’s 63rd Annual Meeting & Conven-tion (NBAA2010) in Atlanta was a testament to the event’s enduring value, even in challenging economic times. The re-siliency and relevancy of NBAA2010, the fourth-largest trade show in the United States, was reflected in the Convention’s key numbers:

Attendee registration increased to 24,206, up more than 5 percent from 2009.

The Static Display of Aircraft was sold out, with 93 aircraft on exhibit at DeKalb Peachtree Airport.

A total of 1,083 Exhibitors participated, up slightly from
2009. The industry’s growing optimism was reflected in numer-ous ways during NBAA2010. A packed room for the show’s Opening General Session featured government and business leaders, including the FAA administrator, governor of Geor-gia, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and president and CEO of Cox Enterprises.
An inspirational, first-ever, second-day General Session recognized the industry’s relief efforts in earthquake-ravaged Haiti; acknowledged five industry legends as FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilots; and honored American icon Arnold Palmer’s long-standing industry advocacy by presenting him with the 2010 NBAA Meritorious Service to Aviation Award.
A charity benefit auction raised more than $220,000 to sup-port the life-saving work of Corporate Angel Network.
