1. AIR DATA SYSTEM
Two air datacomputers (ADC1andADC2)providetheprimaryflightdisplays (PFD) with air dataconsistingofairspeed,altitudeand vertical speed. The ADCs also provide computed air data(speed,altitudeandtemperature data)to various aircraftavionicssystems. The ADCs convertpitotand static air pressure toelectrical signals. The ADCs use static pressure toproduce thealtitudedataand combine static andpitotpressure toproduce the airspeeddata. Resistance changesfrom atotalairtemperature (TAT)probeprovide the ADCs withtemperature data. The systemis controlledbytheair datareference panels and haswarningandalert capabilities integratedwiththe EICAS. Selected speedsandaltitude are set usingtheflight controlpanel(referto Chapter3).

A. Pitot Static System
The pitotstatic systemsupplies pitotand static airpressures to theADCs, thestandby altitude/attitude/airspeedindicatorandthe cabin pressure controlpanel(CPCP). The systemconsistsoftwo pitot/static probes, an alternatepitotprobe,alternate static ports andatotalairtemperature probe(TAT).
