EachPFDis adigitalCRTandhastheprimaryfunction ofpictorially showing aircraft attitude,altitude,airspeed,flightdirectorcommandsandflight mode annunciations. Inputs tothePFD’s are fromthe selectedIRSandADC’s. Commands are set ontheflight control panel, air datareference panelanddisplay controlpanels.<0025> The PFD’s function asthefollowinginstruments: W Attitude headingindicator(ADI) W Horizontal situation indicator(HSI) W Radio magnetic indicator(RMI) W Radio altimeterindicator W Airspeedindicator(MachandIAS) W Vertical speed indicator(VSI). Each ofthe MFDs acts as anavigation system display andhas aprimaryfunction of showing currentheading(compass)and course information. The MFDs can also display moving map navigation pictorials, navigation sensor data,weather radartargets, andTCAS traffic (see Chapter18). Cross side compass information andbackup navigation information can be superimposed oneitherdisplay. EICASinformation can also be displayed oneither MFD. A. Display Reversion Two display reversionarypanels are installedin theflight compartment.One panelis installed on thepilot’s side panelandthe otherpanelis installed on the copilot’s side panel. In the eventof aPFDfailure, alldata normallydisplayed on it can betransferred totheadjacentMFDbyturningthedisplay selector knob on therespective reversionarypaneltothePFDposition. The MFDinformation cannotbetransferredto the PFD. Selectingthe EICASposition willinitiallydisplaythe EICAS status pageon therespective MFD.
