Aloss of validinformation from the selected navigation source willcause the corresponding navigationdata to be removed andthe displayed navigation source indicator is boxed, as shownabove.

Aloss of validlocalizer information from the selected navigation source willcause the CDI to beremovedand afailure flag, as shownabove is displayed. Amiscompare between the two sources of localizer deviaiton is indicatedby the same failure flagbutthe CDIis retained.The flagflashes for 5seconds whenthe miscompare is first detectedandthereafter remains displayeduntilthe condition is corrected.

Flight Path Symbol

5 Centre of symbolindicates actualairplaneflight path (lateraland vertical). The flight path symbolis limitedlaterally and vertically so as not to overlay theindications at the edges of the display (i.e. airspeedandaltitude scales). The flight path symbolhas amaskingwindow which obscures most other symbols it overlays except:

Guidance cue;

TCAS box; and

Runway lines;

Windshear message.
Indicates bankrelative to horizon. Approach status message;

The flight path symbolis removed when anoff-
side attitude or headingsource is selected.
