The pitotstatic system supplies pitotand static air pressures to the ADCs, the integrated standbyinstrument(ISI)andthe cabin pressure controlpanel(CPCP). The systemconsistsoftwo pitot/static probes, an alternatepitotprobe,alternate static ports andatotalairtemperature probe (TAT).<0083>
The pilotsand copilotspitot static probes each consist of apitot mast(P1andP2)and two static ports(S1andS2). Pitotpressure from eachprobeis suppliedto the same sideADC. Static pressure from eachprobeis suppliedto eachADC.
The alternatepitotprobe(P3) supplies pressure inputsto the standby
altitude/attitude/airspeedindicator.
The alternatepitotprobe(P3) supplies pressure inputsto theintegrated standby
instrument(ISI).<0083>
Electric heating elementsprotectthepitot-static andTATprobesfrom icing(referto
Chapter15,Ice andRain Protection).
NOTE
TAT probe readings are inaccurate when the aircraft isontheground,duetoprobeheatingtoprotectitfrom icing. TAT probe readings cannot be used to obtain theambient static temperature before take-off.
Two Machtransducers supplyprimaryMach compensation datato the stallprotection computer. Thetransducers are connectedto theleftand rightpitot static system and provide a means ofisolating aleakytransducerfrom therest ofthepitot static system. via the static source selectors. The selectors are controlledby mechanical selectors on thepilot’s andcopilot’s side consoles.
