D. Altitude Alerts
The altitudealertsystemalertstheflight crew thatapreselectedaltitudehasbeen reached oradeviation from apreselectedaltitudehas occurred. Whenthe aircraftis clearedto changealtitude,thepreselectedaltitudeis set on thePFDthroughtheflight controlpanel(FCP). There are three typesofalertsthat can occur:
W Acquisition mode
W Cross side tracking
W Deviation mode.
Pending Rectification
NOTE
An anomaly has been discovered in the ADC software which causes the aural altitude alerter (C-
Chord) not to cancel if an AFCS transfer is madewhiletheauralalertrelayisenergized. Ifthe altitudealerterdoesnotcancelautomaticallyafter 1 second because the AFCS transfer was operatedwhiletheauralalertrelaywasenergized, briefly switch the AFCS transfer back to the previous setting. Once the aural altitude alerter cancels the AFCS transfer maybe reselected as required.
