E. Acquisition Mode
Altitudealerts are inhibitedin approach mode, whenglideslope is captured andthere are validautopilot steering commands. TheADCwill set aone second acquisition alert warning(altitudeC-cord warning aural)andflashthepreselected altitude readout when thepresentaltitudeis within ±1,000feetof capturingthepreselected altitude. The readoutwillstop flashing when the altitude iswithin ±200feetofthepreselected altitude. The alert can be cancelledbypressingthe altitudeknob ontheflight control panel.
F. Cross Side Tracking
EachADC compares thepreselectaltitude value from bothcomputers for equality. If thevalues are notequal, thepreselect altitudedigits onthedisplay changefrom magentato cyan.
G. Deviation Mode
Afterthepreselected altitudeis captured,ifthe altitude deviatesfrom thepreselected altitudeby more than ±200feet, adeviation alert warning(aural“C”chord)willbe set andthepreselectedaltitude readoutandbugwill changefrom magentato amberand begin to flash. The readoutandbugwill return to normal once the altitude isback within deviation limits. Adeviation alertwill also be made ifthe airplane has gonewithin theacquisition limits on an altitude capture butthendeviatesby more than100feet from thepreselectedaltitude.
H. Air Data Reversion
Normally, eachADCprovidesdatato the same sidePFD. If oneADC shouldfail, the othercomputermaybe usedto supplydatato bothPFDs. This is doneby selectingthe AIRDATAknob,tothe1 or 2position, ontheSource Selector Panel.
